 The sorrow that comes from losing the one you love the most, even when they died protecting you, is always the most painful... Escad, acting on impulse to protect, takes the full extent of the attack (from the Darkness-corrupted Mana Goddess herself?) and dies in Anli's arms in the aftermath of the conflict. ;_; On an artistic note, I was inspired by the number of "Dead/Dying!Escad" fanart amoung the Japanese fandom, so I figured "what the heck" and drew my own. Interestingly enough, I found it a pretty fun challenge rendering the blood. *evil grin* All and all, it turned out very well.
