Escad is twenty-eight, Anli is sixteen – that's twelve years apart if you're too lazy to do the math. They're just ten years younger here. (And before you start shouting, Elazul is eighty, Larc is over a hundred and twenty-two; also plenty of couples with an older partner – especially in shojo manga. XD) Also a bit of foreshadowing, and since I'm a nerd – reverse symbology. Escad is "light" while Anli is trapped in shadow. Ten years later, the tables are turned and the reverse becomes true. ^^ D'aww... My inner romantic is showing! On an artistic note...
