High-spirited, short-tempered, fiery and naive to a fault, Anli holds very strong (though somewhat romanticized) ideals and a deep sense of justice and courage. She is also very proud, and is prone to picking fights and arguing with people (she once threatened to kick Elazul in the crotch!). She is also a very affectionate and emotional girl, though she often acts without thinking, thus leading her into dangerous situations.

Anli is very much in love with Escad Liotte, and frequently travels with him. She treats him with unconditional affection and also likes teasing him. Although his overbearing sense of righteousness occasionally gets on her nerves (which invariably leads to bickering), she genuinely loves him for who he is regardless of his flaws. She will try and deny her feelings for him, but it's completely obvious to everyone around her – even to the Holy Knight. She also sees Kaleb as a "Big Brother" of sorts, and looks to him for guidance if need be.

Gentle, quiet, and shy, Kaleb is a soft-spoken and polite young man who prefers annoymity and refers to himself in a very odd, but humble third-person dialect (calling himself "This one" and speaking in short, fragmented sentences and phrases). He is a very kind, humble pacifist, seeking to resolve conflicts by peaceful and non-violent means. If he is forced into combat, he will only fight in self-defense or to protect a loved one. He is rational and thoughtful, and unlike Anli, heads into situations with great thought and careful planning – even if he has to make up a plan on the spot.

Kaleb absolutely adores Esmeralda Y'verne, and frequently visits her at Geo. After being knighted by Elazul with Nunuzac as a witness, Kaleb vows to keep the cheerful girl safe at any cost, and even bring her back from death if he must. He takes this responsibility very seriously, but most of the time, he and Esmeralda spend time together, flirting and being silly. Kaleb also travels with Anli and Escad, so he knows them very well. He acts as Anli's surrogate "Big Brother", providing her with guidance whenever she seeks or needs it.
