![]() Caido of my original story, The Angel Dragon Chronicles. Age: 19
Caido is cheerful and friendly youth, with a laid-back view on life and and easy-going nature. He lives as fisherman in the coastal port town of Solis, with excellent sailing skills, and is also a craftsman and blacksmith in his spare time. Caido is also a skilled amateur swordsman, and uses his natural athelitism and nimble footwork to his advantage. He meets Arlia when she comes to Acacia, and they immediatly become fast friends. After getting to know her better, he goes with her on her travels, and their friendship grows into an even deeper bond... A character of my own creation, and one of the main characters of my original story, The Angel Dragon Chronicles. Caido is one of the lead characters and is another potential love-interest for Arlia, completing the little love triangles that's going on. He is one of my favorite characters because his easy-going nature and his design, and I'm actually leaning towards Caido "getting" the girl at the end. ^^; (That may all change, but it's still fun to think about.) An interesting thing to note about his pendant is that it also has a fairly important role in the story, and may have enigmatic magical powers... And like Arlia, Ahnjil, and the rest of the cast, Caido has been through a fair amount of changes to his character and overall deisgn over the past eight years, but his core role has been relatively the same. On an artistic note, Caido was one of the most but also the most difficult character to design. I went through at least three or four different variations of his final appearance (as shown here) before settling down and deciding on how he should look, act, what kind of character he would be... The whole nine yards. His colors for his clothes had also been briefly changed to a green-blue and tan scheme. But I decided against it because I wanted a very "warm" color scheme for Caido to reflect his openness, so it ened up being mostly red, yellow and tan. To help balane things out, his hair changed from being bright red (he was originally a red-head) to a reddish-brown, and his bits of green and green-blue. He's also the quirkiest one so far – since he always goes barefoot except when needed. XD As such, he was one of the most difficult to draw because my ideas for him kept changing so much. ^^; But all and all, I'm happy with the final result.
