![]() Meet Turq, a character of mine of whom is from the same story and universe as Indigo, and the primary male protagonist as well. He's a very nice guy. Age: 23
A Thief and a reckless free spirit. Turq was orphaned at a very young age, and he can only barely remember his parents. The only thing he knows that he's a child of mixed desecent – specifically a mother from Nihon-koku and a father from Zhōngguó. Turq was raised by a monestary of monks from the Ü-Tsang. He eventually left the monastery and his adoptive family at the age of 17. Turq enjoys life and all of it pleasures – both "pure" and "sinful" – and is particularly fond of food, drink, sex, theft, adventure and the ocassional bar fight. Yet becaus eof his upbringing, he is profoundly spiritual and has a deep and strong reverence for life and never means to intentionally harm nayone or anything. He fights only in self-defense, and steals to try to save the ailing monastry that was his childhood home. One night, he sneaks into the Bhārat Gaṇarājya Royal Palace, directly into the heart of the Dancer's Harem only to find Indigo. Instead of stealing any goods that night, the two quickly become fast friends and he tells her stories of his travels across Orien and of the outside world. Upon discovering a marriage plot orchastrated by a jealous rival, he convinces her to run away with him, and "steals" her away on her would-be wedding night. Obviously, he has bit of a crush on her. His relationship with Indigo is a pretty loose, "free-style" and ultimately very close and intimate. Sweet, casual and none of the melodramatic "one-true-love!" dynamics. Maybe a little bit for her, later, because she's been so sheltered, but not for him. In short, a very good friendship evolving into a deep, close love. N'aww. Once again, I'm a sappy romantic person. XD On an artistic note, the main hero of "Colors". A fairly recent character, but I love him regardless. He's fun and sweet. XD Also the primary love-interest as noted earlier. He was also a fairly eays character to design. Had the idea of mixing influences of Buddhist and Tibetian Monks in their more traditional robes, as well as the classic "kung-fu monks" image, with the wandering Japanese Ronin – hence the hakama. XD Like Indigo, who's color "theme" is various hues of indigos and darker blues, Turq's is various hues of turquoise, blue-greens and complimentaries. ^^ Color-theory for the win! technically, he's supposed to appear East-Asian, but the poor fellow looks more Caucasian.
