"OTP Project – OkixAmaterasu"

Oki and Amaterasu of Okami. The forth of five OTPs.

Sharing a rather intimate moment, Amaterasu removes Oki's mask and discovers the man behind it...

Oki and Amaterasu's romance starts out in genuine respect, care and camaraderie – a very important important aspect of love – and grows from there. Amaterasu is the strong, quiet type, having the grace, wisdom and compassion befitting of a Sun-Goddess. Oki is highly honorable, compassionate and has good-intentions, and even mirrors her recklessness and over-zealousness when it comes to aiding others... to a more reckless extreme of course. (Ah, what a lovable butt-head, he is.) And in his misguided endeavors to save Kamui, he learns that true strength comes from one's heart – not from how many demons they vanquish. So in short, they mirror each other in terms of their core beliefs and what they stand for.

They also happen to be opposites as well. Amaterasu does have a somewhat innocent and childish, overly-curious view of the world, and Oki is more serious and experienced in comparison, though he is still young and impulsive. And hey, it works because they can both be wolves or take human form if they desire (though Ammy would probably learn that ability from Onigiri Sensai! XD *randomness*) And since, I think, the Oina tribe only allow family or lovers to remove their masks (aside from themselves in the privacy of their homes), Ammy removing Oki's mask is an intimate gesture in itself. The fact that he's letting her do so speaks for itself... ^^

On an artistic note, I wanted to go for something simple and intimate, hence the removal of Oki's mask (and yeah, it's pretty much accepted by the fandom that Oki's a pretty man underneath the mask). As for Amaterasu, well, I've drawn my version of Human!Ammy before, so no trouble there. (If you're curious, I designed my version of Human!Ammy with some inspiration from furisode kimonos and yakuta, just so I have the excuse to draw her in something that would flow and look graceful, but still be combat-ready. XD *dorkyartist*) Again, references were used, and I'm beginning to feel more more comfortable with that new CG'ing technique I discovered recently. ^^
